Members

Current members of the tribe. Past members and supporting friends and family may not be listed but we wouldn’t be here without them.

Wasteland Cowboy

Roles: Tribe leader, fabrication, driver, gunslinger, tortillas

Background: The Wasteland Cowboy was a child when the end came for civilization. He was discovered not long after, feral and fending for himself on the still smoldering scraps of the old world. The men who raised him were brutal and savage but ultimately instilled the skills necessary to survive the harsh wasteland. Upon reaching adulthood he set out on his own and finally, after many long years, came to know his tribe mates. No longer  content to simply survive, he works hard with his tribe to thrive as courier mercenaries.

Lady

Roles: Communication, negotiator, gunnery support, tactician.

Background: Lady was young when the world fell into decay. Her few memories of the old world are fragmented and mostly forgotten. She grew up in a hidden compound far from rubbled cities and desolate wastelands. Most of her life was spent sheltered with little knowledge of the world beyond the walls around her settlement. In her youth she was most comfortable in isolation with her books from the relatively unused library. As an adult she became an educator, passing along knowledge and the skills of reading and writing to the new generation.

Her world crumbled apart when her settlement was attacked and conquered by raiders. Her attempt to flee with her students ended in her capture, torture, and the slaughter of the children before her eyes. She eventually escaped to find her new place in the world, forever scarred by her past.

Mutt

Roles: Scavenger, transportation, combat support, barter

Background: Mutt is representative of the first generation who came after the old world was destroyed. He is hardened by the realities of living in the post apocalypse with no memory or emotional ties to a world that no longer exists.

After his father's death at a young age, Mutt, his mother, and their canine friend roamed around the wastes of the East learning the skills of survival and trade. He had a particular knack for quietly looting and scavenging necessary resources from the dense post industrial landscape. While still young he fell into the company of other youths who formed a pack based on the influence of the wild dogs roaming the area.
Being pretty much raised by them in a pack mentality,  Mutt gave up his old name in favor of a new one chosen for this new world. As he was reaching adulthood his pack and his elderly canine friend were wiped out leaving Mutt as the only survivor. Not long after he met the young mercenary Ghost and the two joined forces performing odd jobs of varying degrees of violence. Together they hoarded their meager profits until at last they had the resources to build their own vehicle. Not long after the Heep was completed they embarked on the long and dangerous journey West.

Wild Bill

Roles: Lead driver, mechanic, fabrication, shooter

Background: Bill is a man from another era. He remembers very clearly the world as it once was. He doesn't reveal much about his life before the fall of civilization but his skills with vehicles betray a history as a wheelman. Theories vary as to which side of the law he was on but in the years following the end he's carved out a solid reputation as an unbeatable force behind the wheel.

No one knows where or when he came upon the strange black right hand drive Australian Interceptor but for as long as anyone can recall they've been an inseparable pair. Even more mysterious and remarkable is how he manages to keep the beast running and relatively unscathed.

Sho

Roles: Mad scientist, demolitions, stealth assassinations, karaoke

Background: Sho's true parentage is unconfirmed but it is believed that she was created in secret as a clone by a high tech corporation before the fall of civilization. Held in cryogenic stasis for many years she was recently awakened by a curious scavenger who stumbled upon the hidden laboratory. Sho's memory of those early hours of awakening, or life, are fleeting so it is unknown if others like her were also found. The scavenger who found her quickly sold her into slavery to a powerful fuel baron.

With no education or knowledge of the harsh post apocalyptic world Sho spent her first months as a frightened child, grasping for a way to understand the terrors of this life. Over time her mind became more aware and the use of language came quickly. Unusually so. Not long after more knowledge came to her in explosive waves. With no guidance to sort out the noise, knowledge of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and literature became fragmented and as one in her programmed mind. She became unstable and unable to form logical thought. Seeing her torment, both of her mind and at the hands of her owner, a hired worker named Gunmetal took notice of Sho and resolved to set her free.

Over time Sho stabilized enough to befriend secretly plot her freedom with Gunmetal. Their escape was violent and bloody resulting in a sizable bounty placed upon them. Over the next few years they traveled across the wastelands, inseparable,  escaping or killing the many bounty hunters sent after them which fueled even higher value for their capture or death.

Having just escaped their most recent captures, Sho and Gunmetal were found together battered and exhausted by the Dauntless eXpress team while they were completing an unrelated mission. While recuperating at DXC base camp the news of their bounty was discovered. At first the team wanted to collect but the pair quickly proved their worth. Now they are under the protection and employ of Dauntless keeping all but the bravest or most foolish bounty hunters at bay.

Ghost

Roles: Survivalist, soldier, arm wrestling

Background: Little is known of the mercenary named Ghost. He met Mutt not long before building their vehicle and traveling West to seek better fortunes. He is an extremely capable and well trained soldier but he doesn't reveal where his training originated or what motivated him to stick with Mutt these last years. Many suspect that Ghost is not the name he chose for himself but a moniker, albeit fitting, applied to him by others that eventually just stuck.

While Ghost is perfect capable, and deadly, in and any direct confrontation he prefers to strike from the shadows quickly and escape unnoticed so as to avoid unnecessary violence. He has no lust for the thrill of combat. He just happens to be really good at it. Under pressure and in the face of death he is as calm and quiet as if by an evening fire

Tandy

Roles: Tinkerer, tailor, ruthless barter master

Background: Tandy, the fixer, was a very young child in a small town when the end came. Her only memory before the apocalypse was laughing and assisting her father with various repairs around the house. For a time her family held together, surviving on stored rations and bartered goods. The desperation and violence of the homeless and starving survivors from the larger cities eventually overwhelmed the small suburb town. Her parents perished in the great fires and Tandy was left to fend for herself. She spent many years holed up in abandoned homes for short periods of time, fighting the rats for bits of food while fending off or evading potential aggressors. As she grew older she found that she found that she had a knack for "fixing" things and jury rigging alarms and traps to keep her safe. Because she was never an aggressor or possessing the skills or strength to take what she needed by force, she also learned a great deal about how to barter her scavenged and repaired gadgets for the food and supplies she required.

She found Cowboy and Lady by literally walking right into their vehicle while blinded during a storm. After being treated for her injuries with no required payment, Tandy offered to help with some simple repairs in return and simply never left. Even though she was still unsure of this new group, they made her laugh, something she hadn't done in a very long time.

Shots

Roles: Libations, rock and roll, face puncher

Background: Gg (jee-jee) Shots is a badass. Don't mess with her cause she will punch you in your face.

Originating from the East, Shots earned her name tending bar at various eateries and saloons across the eastern settlements. One fateful evening she over heard Mutt, who had traveled eastward on a mission for DXC, telling tale of the adventurers and opportunities to be found in the harsh western wastelands. She solicited Mutt to provide passage West and he begrudgingly complied. Along the journey she proved herself more than just a drink slinger by unflinchingly helping Mutt fend off a raiding party with her bare hands. Instead of leaving her at the gates of Wasteland City as originally promised, he brought her to Dauntless headquarters at the center of town and the team immediately put her to work. She integrated quickly and now pulls double duty with DXC and as a bartender for the infamous Atomic Cafe in Wasteland City.

Gunmetal

Roles: Hired hand, security, camp fire ambiance

Background: Gunmetal is a rare gentle soul who simply worked odd jobs for various land barons, villages, or other groups across the Southern wastelands. Never comfortable with staying in one place for very long, he migrated from place to place on foot keeping only what he could carry but never without his guitar. Without a specific destination in mind he zig-zagged his way North and South across the country side in a westward direction. Eventually he made his way to the remnants of southern California and in the employ of a land Baron who was rebuilding old oil refineries for fuel production.

It was here that he first met Sho, the mesmerizing and aloof slave of the Baron. Instead of moving along as he had planned, Gunmetal stayed on and even shifted work detail to be closer to the vulnerable girl. Slowly, secretly, they got to know each other until he became obsessed with freeing her. Together they plotted against the baron and eventually attempted their escape. Unfortunately they were caught and Gunmetal, the gentle quiet musician, found the rage deep within and broke free. Together Gunmetal and Sho slaughtered their captures and disappeared into the deep wastes. Many bounty hunters were sent after the pair but hand in hand they managed to either escape or kill those that would separate them.

Stray

Roles: Lead chef, sanitation engineering, mystery meats

Background: Stray was born into a tribe of cannibals, which is where he gained his culinary prowess and lived until his early teens when the tribe was attacked by raiders. An attack that his just barely escaped from. He spent the next several years in near solitude. Setting himself up in the ruins of an old factory. It was there that he was discovered our own Mutt, who'd been scavenging for supplies not far from Stray's makeshift home when he caught a wiff of some home cooking. Following it right to Stray.

Mutt brought Stray back to the DXC group and put him to the test. Everyone was impressed and he was hired immediately. Stray's cuisine is unmatched in Wasteland City but don't ever ask where the meat came from.

Dusty

Roles: Dog

Background: Dusty was destined to be a sandwich (Cowboy was voting for burritos) when Stray traded some supplies for him. Mutt intervened and adopted him as his own. Dusty has since become a member of the DXC family. He doesn't have any special skills, he's not a particularly good guard dog, but look at him. He's adorable!
